Dougie

The Dougie is a hip-hop dance generally performed by moving one's body in a shimmy style and passing a hand through or near the hair on one's own head. There is not a defined way to perform the Dougie, and each individual performs with his or her own variation. Rapper Corey Fowler, nicknamed Smoove, of Cali Swag District said, “Everbody does it different…The way you do it defines you.”

 B-boying

B-boying, often called "breakdancing", is a popular style of street dance that was created and developed as part of hip-hop culture among African Americans and Latino youths in New York City. The dance consists of four primary elements: toprock, downrock, power moves and freezes/suicides. It is danced to both hip-hop and other genres of music that are often remixed to prolong the musical breaks. The musical selection for b-boying is not restricted to hip-hop music as long as the tempo and beat pattern conditions are met. A practitioner of this dance is called a b-boy, b-girl, or breaker. These dancers often participate in battles, formal or informal dance competitions between two individuals or two crews. Although the term "breakdance" is frequently used, "b-boying" and "breaking" are the original terms used to refer to the dance. These terms are preferred by the majority of the art form’s pioneers and most notable practitioners.

Robot dance or mannequin

The robot (or mannequin) is an illusionary street dance style – often confused with popping – that attempts to imitate a dancing robot or mannequin. Roboting gained fame after Michael Jackson used the dance when he performed "Dancing Machine" with his brothers.

·        Arrested robot

A variation on the robot is the "arrested robot" style, where the movement of various parts of the dancer's body are arrested and shaken rapidly, giving the impression that the robot is breaking down. A lock-and-release of joints can also give the appearance of supports breaking down. The dancer may also freeze with an arm straight to the side with lower arm swaying.

·        The Mannequin

This movement is simply mimicking the mannerisms of window store mannequins like the ones seen during Christmas time in major department store windows. It involves affecting a blank stare and slow motion movements of all the joints.

AMERICAN BESTDANCE CREW

America's Best Dance Crew, often abbreviated as ABDC, is an American competitive dance reality television series that features street dance crews from the United States and around the world. It is produced by American Idol judge Randy Jackson and airs on MTV. The series was originally developed for NBC, initially titled World Moves.

The show is hosted by former teen actor, two-time game show host, and Dancing with the Stars runner-up Mario Lopez, and features television personality Layla Kayleigh as the backstage correspondent. For its sixth season, the current judges include hip-hop artist and dancer Lil Mama, former 'N Sync member JC Chasez, and So You Think You Can Dance and America's Best Dance Crew alumnus Dominic "D-Trix" Sandoval. Former judges include hip-hop choreographer Shane Sparks and R&B singer Omarion.

On July 29, 2011, MTV announced at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour that America's Best Dance Crew has been renewed for a seventh season

You Got Serve

A 2004 film written and directed by Chris Strokes, manager of its stars, recording artist Omarion, Marques Houston and the members of boy band B2K. The plot concerns a group of dancers, who take part in a street dancing competition. It was released by Columbia Pictures' Screen Gems division on January 30, 2004, and was produced by Marcus Morton, Cassius Weathersby, Billy Pollina, Kris Cruz Toledo. It opened at #1 at the box office during Super Bowl weekend with $16 million grossed in its first week.

The story start with Omarion as David and Marques Houston as Elgin. They both the best dancers on their crew and hold the crew title as an independent champion on street dancing. Elgin work on a gangster and delivered some money from the gangster clients. David and Elgin always stick together and their crew. But one of their member betrayed them and begin the conflict from their crew. Friendship had been broken and everything lost from them. 

In the end David and Elgin work as team to win the competition while Wade and max was disappointed from their loses and they told them it's not fair that they lost from them. David replied and told them, "Y'all just mad, 'cause today, you suckas got served."

 

STEP UP TRILOGY

STEP UP

Step Up is a 2006 American dance/romance film directed by Anne Fletcher starring Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan.

Set in Baltimore, Maryland, the film follows the tale of the disadvantaged Tyler Gage (Channing Tatum) and the privileged modern dancer Nora Clark (Jenna Dewan), who find themselves paired up in a showcase that determines both of their futures. Tyler Gage foun himself in a school of arts MSA, who meets a girl name Nora Clark. Despite of curiosity around the school after he and his friend broke in the school audio room. And got himself to a community service which he see something new to his life.  

STEP UP 2

Step Up 2: The Streets (often stylized as Step Up 2 the Streets) is the 2008 sequel to the 2006 film Step Up from Touchstone Pictures. It was directed by Jon Chu, and choreographed by Jamal Sims, Hi-Hat (Bring It On) and Dave Scott (Stomp the Yard). Patrick Wachsberger and Erik Feig of Summit Entertainment produced with Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot of Offspring Entertainment and Anne Fletcher, the director of the original film.(source: Wikipedia)

Brianna Evigan take over the rule as the protagonist of Step up 2 sequel. Andie west was a girl his member to a street dance crew "410". Sarah a friend of her mother take care of her and try to tell her to stop going out to the 410 crew. Andie don't want to left the crew because it is the only family she left. She try to run away from her Sarah house. Andie met Tyler at the club and  told her she have to go to school. Tyler came up to an idea to challenge in a dance battle, if she win, she can do what ever she want to her life, if Tyler won she will join MSA school of arts. But Andie lost to their dance battle and go straight home. Tyler convince Sarah and she agree. Andie had a hard time and had been kick out from her crew and start a new one. But it on turns out a disaster, one of her friend join to their crew and leave 410 crew. The last dance battle had been proven to all people from the club that they want to dance.

STEP UP 3 

Step Up 3D (also known as Step Up 3) is a 2010 American 3D dance film written by Amy Andelson and Emily Meyer and directed by Step Up 2: The Streets's Jon Chu. The sequel sees the return of Adam Sevani and Alyson Stoner, who portrayed Moose from Step Up 2 the Streets and Camille Gage from Step Up, respectively. This movie starred Brodie Lewis and was planned out by Kieran O'Boyle.

As the third installment in the Step Up trilogy, and the first shot in 3D, the film follows Moose and Camille Gage as they head to New York University, the former dancer of whom is majoring in electrical engineering after promising his father that he would not dance anymore. However, he soon stumbles upon a dance battle, meeting Luke Katcher and his House of Pirates dance crew and later teaming up with them to compete in the World Jam dance contest against their rival, the House of Samurai dance crew.

Step Up 3D premiered in Hollywood at the El Capitan Theater on August 2, 2010 and was subsequently released worldwide on August 6, 2010, through conventional 2D and 3D (in RealD 3D, Dolby 3D, and XpanD 3D) formats. It was also the second movie to feature the 7.1 surround sound audio format, the first of which was Toy Story 3. Moose entering college at NYU. Moose start his dancing again when he see the shoes of Luke Katcher that time. He found himself to a different dance group in New York city and start himself as a college student and a dancer.

Jabbawockeez had 4 fil-am on their group. Chris "Cristyle" Gatdula, Joe "Emajoenation" Larot, Rynan "Kid Rainen" Paguio, and Phil " Swaggerboy" Tayag. They are proud to be Filipino and visited to their motherland Philippines. Last year, the crew was performing at ASAP XV and the comedy show series BANANA SPLIT : DAILY SERVING.

But actually, JABBAWOCKEEZ is just like Lani Misalucha who been perform in Philippines before. Jabbawockeez is really enjoy to work with the Kapamilya station ABS-CBN Star. They been have in 3 show in the the station and with Billy Crowford last 2009 on their his show.

On top on that Jabbawockeez had extend their career and they have show at Las Vegas, Nevada hotel Monte Carlo.

The Closing of SIGLAKAS 2011

The awaited part of Siglakas 2011 is the championship game and the awarding of players. Siglakas 2011 had been successfully ended this year. The student of PE subject was performing extremely from the audience till the end of the programmed. The Maritime Regiment once again the Champion of this year Siglakas. The dance sport competition was won by the Highschool Main Campus and the College of Art and Sciences.

Hoping for next year Sglakas will be successful as now. Siglakas is a good event for all colleges will get together and will be a true sportsman.

Don Matias H.Aznar this Saturday August 13,2011. The lecturer of that day is Atty. Rivera one of the Southwestern University Alumnus.

 

BATTLE OF THE BANDS AND VAOIT III

At that night of August 13 ,2011, the entertainment of the event have come. The Vaoit 3 was the event where the candidate of their college compete for the crown to be the VAOIT 3 winner. But not only the Vaoit 3was the event happening, also the Battle of the bands of colleges of Southwestern University. 

During the special award. The Sun cellular make a title for the contestant of the Vaoit 3. The 3rd prize Sun cellular was given to College of Criminology, 2nd prize is the College of Computer Studies, and 1st prize and the Ms. Sun Cellular is the College of Physical Therapy. The minor awards is given for the best in swimwear College of Medicine, best night gown College of Pharmacy. The chosen top is from the College of Criminology, College of Physical Therapy, College of Pharmacy, College of Medicine, and College of Art and Sciences.

The winner of the Battle of the battle of the band is from the College of Maritime Regiment, who been get the audience attention from their performance.

Siglakas 2011 had been started this Aug. 10 2011. It's been a surprise from all student and teachers for a wonderful presentation from the PE department student. The introduction of players SWU Cobras and the players other department.

CHEER DANCE Competition

'Who said men can't do it', MARITIME REGIMENT prove it again from this year of Siglakas winning again this competition. 3rd place was the College of Nursing, who been the former depending Champion. 2nd is the College of Dentistry  have been perform well.

Who said they are  been far away they can't be together again, last time I watch the video of Ramzy. They all got guts, they still dancing but this guys are really never give up on dancing.

Philippines All star is back for another World Hip-Hop Competition this 2011.

Quest CREW

The name Quest crew is came from Quest Learning center at Artesia, California.
They won the reality competition American Best Dance Crew on it's 3rd season.

  They first seenon the music video of Far East Movement "Dane like Micheal Jackson" and LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem and Champagne Shower.

The crew and make a Quest to find another member. They recruited D-Trix and Victor Kim also part of b-boy crew Flexible Flav recently became world winner.

The Philippine Allstars was started in 2005 by four friends who wanted to collectively represent their country in the World Hip-Hop Championships held in the US. That year after taking first in the Maximum Groovity II, National Hip-Hop Open, they proudly placed sixth in the World. In 2006, Allstars put the Philippines on the map of Hip-hop dance in becoming the first Asian country to win back-to-back World Gold titles in the International Hip-hop Open d’Ítalia in Turin, Italy and in the World Hip-Hop Dance Championships in Los Angeles, California. The next year, the group took Bronze in the same competition and also won Team of the Year from V.Ent’s First Annual Dance Awards. Now in 2008, they came back strong again and took Gold in the World Hip-Hop Dance Championships held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The group hopes to elevate the status of dancers in the Philippines, because for too long have dancers been considered second-rate performers. Through their efforts and many talented others, they want to show that dancing is a great art form and should be more respected and rewarded than what is currently being offered by the entertainment industry. They share in a movement that strives to unite and inspire this generation through Faith, Hip-hop, and One Love. Lastly, a goal of the group is to teach and help under-privileged kids through dancing and inspiring them to strive for something more than what they have been told they can achieve. The Allstars advocates for Gawad Kalinga, has taught in US Embassy Outreach Programs, has spoken and performed for the QC Detention Cell, and participated in programs such as Pathways Workshop and Walk for Education. The Allstars are featured in many events, concerts, tours, TV guestings, commercials, music videos, films, and print ads.

In February 2010, they opened their first dance school, the Allstars Dance School, located in San Juan city Philippines. The dance school is the realization of the Allstars' ultimate goal, and is their greatest achievement to date.
Each member contributes to its authentic Hip-Hop flavor that combines the different styles of Break-dancing, Krumping and Freestyle.
Currently, the Philippine Allstars consists of the following members: Lema Diaz, Sheena Vera Cruz, Patrick Caballa, Kyxz Mendiola, Michelle Salazar, Jeremiah Carandang, Chelo Aestrid, Deo Bantillo, Patrick Romero, and Joshua Barlis (and Juniors Naomi Tamayo, Heidi Riego, Ac Lalata, Krista Roma, Rycher Alfonso, Boh Valdez, Vince Mendoza, Matthew Padilla & Orwayne de Leon). During their audition. Jabbawockeez are lack of one member and out of original number supposedly, they are seven but the seventh member dies on a accident. This is not been a problem to them as promise for their friend who died, they will make to the finals and win the competition.

Jabbawockeez entering the 1st week of competition. They surprise the judges and not only the judges but all the audience by their performance of their own master mix of Apologize by Timbaland.

2nd week was the duplicating of choreography of Ice Box by Omarion. They make a standing ovation from the judges made them satisfy.

3rd week of the competition is the Dance Graze Challenge which they have to make a dance choreography of the song Lean wit it, Rock wit it. But they have to make an illusion that define gravity. In their dance showcase Jabbawockeez make an outstanding ovation of the fans and Shane to say that they are the sickest he ever meet. But JC give them a warning on their performance.

4th week it's more harder to them to make a  dance step. But Jabbawockeez make their own choreography to make them a thief.

6th week is a Broadway mix challenge to make a pop jazz to hip hop.

Evolution of hip hop is one of my favorite, it's very entertaining and make you like to back to old school style.

Jabbawockeez made a creativity of their dance make it to the top of the competition. Until Jabbawockeez and Status Claw remain. In the end Jabbawockeez won the ABDC season 1. The first champion in the season.

After winning the reality dance competition, they go places and start performing live. They also visited Philippines last year 2010 and shown in the ABS-CBN station show like ASAP XV and Banana Split Daily Serving.

Devastating Stereo by THE BANGERZ ft JABBAWOCKEEZ

I been watching Jabbawockeez when I was a Highschool student and i amaze on their dancing skill and very entertainingt.( BY: Jemimah..) 
Jabbawockeez right have their own show at Monte Carlo, Las Vegas Hotel and Los Angeles. They been shown also at American Got Talent. And their first appearance at Step Up 2: The Street, Directed by Jon M. Chu ( Now he will be the Director of G.I. Joe 2).

SMS all-male dance crew, popular on their dancing skill and original master mix music. They  won  the Carmen Amateur contest. Later on they posted their own dance video on youtube.

They started during their 3rd year high school after that time they been performing on their school campus. Their first dance performance is during the TADICSA, a catholic school sport feast. They plan to join the Cantilan Amateur Contest failed to go on town beacuse of examination days. But the group made from the competition in Carmen, Surigao del Sur and won.

Ralph " Raphex" Sescon is my bestfriend since grade 6 until now. I made a motto that make our friendship to remember " Friends never end" but for him " True friends never lies." I don't know why he thinking about that.


Xerxes Gimao is my classmate when i was in 3rd Grade (literally I was a transferee.) to 6th Grade. He was more popular to 3rd year Highschool girls( my brother classmate. I was surprise he can dance when I see the video of Choy Crew.

Ramzy ...... I don't know him. I only saw him on Choy Crew videos. But he's a nice dancer who been always have a dedicated dance like Madd Chadd, Jabbawockeez,and etc.
